I Being Born of Goodly Parents...

Maybe one of my favorite stories found in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ it is about Helaman and the 2000 stripling warriors, and found in the book of Alma Chapter 56 verse 47-48~

"Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers , saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it"Parson, Del (born 1948, Utah)
Farewell, My Stripling Warrior
Painting, oil on canvas, 1999
President Thomas S. Monson said, " Being a mother has never been an easy role. Some of the oldest writings in the world admonish us not to forsake the law of our mother's instructing us "that a floolish son is the heaviness of his mother"and "warn us not to ignore out mother when she is old" (Proverbs 1:8, 10:1, 23:22) "The scriptures also remind us that what we learn from our mothers comprises our very core value."
This past week has been so amazing for me, as a mother.
I love my children and the adults that they are becoming.
Today, Derek reported his mission at our church building (ward) in Burley.
Though I could not be there in person, they set up a system so I could listen to it over the phone...Tears came to my eyes as he started his talk and said, " First, I want to say, " I love my mother".
I feel blessed to hear "Happy Mother's Day"

I Am So Spoiled

My Sister 'Lene flew into SLC today to spend Mother's Day weekend with me. Thank goodness she did.
Kirk, Derek, Kira and Sergio left for Idaho today.
Ro and part of his family have also gone for the weekend
to be to Derek's homecoming.
I have such an amazing family.
I have been so blessed with great siblings, parents
husband and children.

Happy Reunion...

It was so amazing...
we smiled and laughed
Derek was so excited talking to everyone.
He and Josh look so much alike!

When Derek was coming down the escalator he said...he thought he recognized Sergio...Kira had only her eyes showing behind her sign.

As he walked up to Sergio he realized it was KIRA standing next to him. What a great surprise for him to see Kira after 3 years.

He Is Home!!!!!

HELL OR HIGH WATER

Have you ever said...Hell or High Water???
Yea...I did too...
I will be at Derek's homecoming from his mission...
and look...YES HAIL was included...
I asked my cardiologist if I could go home for Derek to speak in church and report his mission in Indiana.
He said, that with my standing on the transplant list he would rather I did not, even though he understands how hard this will be on me.
So...guess hail and high water was not the right phrase to use...
because it has NOT stopped raining!!
