Happy Anniversary to K y S

We were in Buenos Aries, Argentina
Kira and Sergio were being married for time and all eternity
in the Buenos Aries LDS Temple.

It was a crazy day...
To read the "long story" visit Kira's Blog.

Kira has always said she doesn't have any "real" wedding pictures
and in a way she is right.
But, there are some great candid shots even if the wind was blowing like crazy,
we had just off a 14+ hour bus ride,
taxi drivers not knowing where the temple was
and arriving late...
BUT
I think Kira is a BEAUTIFUL bride and Sergio is a HANDSOME groom.

It was really nice that part of Sergio's family could be there
and that Kirk was able to come to Argentina too.

On the bus ride after the temple was so funny.
I think people thought they were models or something because they were taking pictures of them!! FUNNY

Congrats...
and many more amazing, crazy, miraculous years to you.

Pretty Darn Quiet

It is WONDERFUL to be home
BUT
My house seems to be a  freaky kind of quiet.
Where I am still not feeling a 100% Miss C is spending this week with one of her other Grandmas.
I miss her so much,
but am so grateful that she has a large family who loves her and take good care of her
while her mommy is at work.
Kira, Sergio and Miss H left for Argentina yesterday.
It was horrible not being able to go to the airport to see them off, but they did stop by the hospital to say bye before they left.
I just wish I had the energy to get some things done today
but a little at a time...right.

Shoshone Falls Part II

Sergio's brother, Juan and his wife Antonella have came for a visit from Argentina!
They arrived May 29th
and are expecting their first baby this fall.

With Shoshone Falls being so amazing we HAD to take them to see the "show"
and introduce them to Sonic.

I really enjoyed it because Kirk was able to come with us!
He actually got to have a 4 day holiday weekend...I can't remember the last time that has happen.
So...Kirk had been checking out the falls...
He had moved over by the rock wall with the guys getting a different view...
and then I could not see him...I asked Kira, "where is dad?"
She laughed and pointed...
I had to shake my head...he had gone over the wall for a "better view"
This is truly one of the things I love about Kirk.
He has not lost his sense of adventure.
He never ceases to amaze me.

When he came back to where I was standing...
He just gave his cute mischievous smile (with the look of what??
I just smiled and was grateful I had my camera and that
he still lives life to the fullest.

Just Asking...

Is there a food that if you just hear the name about makes you puke???
I have one....
white beans and ham..
just typing it has me gagging...
Especially if you add the word...
Ketchup with it.
It is kind of a long story...
I come from a family  of queasy tummy people.

If  one person even makes the sound of a gag...or a sound close to it, you can pretty much bet that someone else will be dry heaving or gagging, with ultimately ending with 5 kids PUKING everywhere.

(As an adult I now know why we did not take many family vacations...someone ALWAYS got car sick...get the picture.)

Anyway, back to white beans and ham...

I am not sure why my mom thought we should eat this disgusting meal, but she did, the smell while it was cooking was enough to make you sick (and my mom was an amazing cook)

My brother...the 2nd... as a 5 year old had to have ketchup on EVERYTHING.
This night LONG AGO...he figured if he put ketchup in his white beans and ham it might...just might cover the taste.
So, we all watched to see if it would help.

I still remember his face and that little deep gag that comes from the bottom of your throat...
Yep, that is all it took...we were all PUKING, running for the outside door to the yard, trying not to throw up all over my mom's kitchen table.

Can you see 5 children under the age of 10 trying not to step in the other's mess as we were running from the house???
Mom was NOT impressed.
To this day...the smell gags me.
I try every year after Easter to make it for Kirk, because for some unknown reason he likes it.
I usually spend most of the time gagging and complaining with at least one time running for the bathroom to puke.
May 25th is  Argentina's Revolution Day, to celebate they eat something called Locro., so my sweet daughter Kira ask if we can make it for Sergio....
and I am like SURE...what do we need?
Ham, white beans...and the list continues on her blog.
I still can not get the smell out of my mind, but I do believe it is the first time in 30 years that I have made it and not puked at least once and gagged ALL DAY!

I am just trying to figure out how I can throw the left overs in the fridge away without anyone noticing.
Because really, I do not want my veggies tasting like ...
GAG.....

Shoshone Falls

We had a pretty wet winter and Spring...LOTS of RAIN and when that happens
The Shoshone Falls go from looking like this to...
THIS...
It is such a Rush and an amazing place to see.
Kira, Sergio and Miss H, went too.
I think it has been about 2 years since I was at the falls,
and the first time for Sergio and Miss H.
We had fun  feeding this rock chuck.
Soon he figured out Sergio was the one with the "goodies" and he would stay pretty close to him...
The little ones stayed in the rocks but also got "showered" with trail mix.
It was great!
We  found a different view of the The I. B. Perrine Bridge in  Twin Falls.
It is a truss arch  four-lane bridge. It  is approximately 1,500 feet long and 486 feet  above the Snake River.
During the summer months you will see BASE jumpers on it.
Now I know were to go watch so I have a  better view.

Hanging Out At Grandma's and Hazel's First Bath

I can not believe how big Miss "C" looks next to our little Empanada
Miss "H" has just started to take a "suckie"
Where Miss "C" has had hers for sometime.
I believe she was trying  to help Hazel break the habit
but an 8 month old only has so much EYE hand coordination
Miss "H" wanted her suckie back in her mouth but Miss "C" was tired of all the noise.
HEHEHEHEEEEE

Later in the day Miss Hazel got to have her very FIRST bath.
We found a little salad bowl to bath her in.
She really liked her bath.
I love watching Kira and Sergio with their little daughter.
They are such good parents and do as much as they can together in caring  for Miss Hazel.

It Is Official

Do you remember this post...
and my frustration with all the paper work?
On December 21, 2010 we made a trip to Boise,
 for Sergio's & Kira's Interviews for his
permanent residency card.
The interview went really well.
and they were told that Sergio would be issued a 2 year card
(because he and Kira had been married less than 2 years)
and in 18 months he can apply for an extension (yes more fees) to have his residency permanent
 until he applies for citizenship!
We are so excited for him!

After the interview we went to find

I only knew of the one near Rexburg, ID and did not know they had one in Boise, but Kira did.
We ordered ONE burger that came with fries
for us to share and we all left STUFFED!

Today THIS arrived in the mail...

Yes, I added the fun little message...I don't think the government would be that personable.
Yep, it is official and we are so excited to have this process behind us!
Congrats Sergio!
You are a
PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

A Little Nervous

Tomorrow is our visit to the ....

Sergio and Kira have their interview for Sergio's
"GREEN CARD"
...I am a bit of a nervous wreck...
If everything is not in order we will be doing another trip to the airport this week
and I promise there will not be any smiles.
Please, Please keep Sergio and Kira in your prayers.
