I think october is a great month to spend some time with yourself. i know many of us are already hyperventilating about the rush from All Hallow's Eve through New Year's Eve. this is the perfect opportunity to get yourself mentally, physically and spiritually prepared for the upcoming holiday *madness.*this month, we will consult our 100 lists. it's quite simple, really. on the 7th of the month (TOMORROW) post an spt about item #7 on your list. on the 14th of the month, post an spt about item #14. and so on. and so on.

As you can see I am older than 'lene by 7 years, I was in 1st grade and thought I was the luckest girl in the world. I had a little sister (after 3 brothers I was so ready for a sister)

I don't know if we have one serious picture together.

As you can see she is very pretty, dark hair and eyes. I have light hair (ok when it's not colored it is white) and green eyes

Oh yes and 'lene got the boobs...this is my picture of me trying to hold up to hers. As you can see...nothing there...

But, my kids are all potty trained!!!!

Do I feel like I am the luckest girl in the world to have her as my sis...Why yes I do. I would not trade her for anything. I love you 'lene

Dad & Barb's Anniversary

Today is my Dad & Barbara's Wedding Anniversary.

As I looked for info to put in this blog I realized that I have some deep issues with my dad remarrying after my mom passed away. I could not find a wedding invitation (I know they had one) I could not find a wedding picture (I have seen some) I wasn't even sure what year they were married ( I found it was 2000) I know they were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple ( I was there)...but I really do not know much more than that about Barbara. I know she was married before and has two sons (I met at the wedding) I don't know her maiden name. I know when her B-day is but not what year she was born, or where though I believe it was in Canada.

But...with all that...
My dad is not alone, for him that was very important.
And so I guess it should be important to me...Right?

Bof M .... I probe the D&C.I search the KJV ... I ponder the JST.Today in BYC ... we planned for EFY. I stayed a little after ... and had a PPI.The YM and YW ... are putting on a play. It's one that I remember ...we did in MIA. Before our oldest son ...went in the MTC, He helped the BSA .... complete their SME. Soon our oldest daughter ... is heading for the Y. Soon our oldest clothing ...will be going to the DI. Now, if you've understood ... this alphabetic mess, The chances are quite good ... that you are LDS. By Lawrence Heywood

For those of our friends who are totally confused by all the silly acronyms... We have silly phrases too...like Stake House...and Conference Weekend.

This past weekend Oct. 4th and 5th was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, Mormons) General Conference it is held in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Though now it is broadcasted to homes, stake houses (no there are not any menus) and now on the internet. This is a time of great excitement, because of the gospel being RESTORED to the earth.

After the death & resurection of Christ, and the death of the 12 apostles, the teachings of Christ became distorted and ushered in "Dark Ages". When Christ was upon the earth he established his church with prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists. We too now have a prophet to lead us and 12 apostles! How wonderful it is to be able to hear their council to us as a world, ALL OF US, as children of our Father in heaven, as those who know that Christ is our Savior and the only way back to the Father.

I have a testimony, that Thomas S. Monson is The Prophet of God, holding all the keys to this time upon the earth. He is as the Prophets of old, he is here to lead us. He will guide us to prepare for the coming of Christ again to the earth.

What did I learn from conference this weekend...

Be HAPPY! Laugh! Prepare! Be United! There ARE Angels Among Us!

But, the most important thing...my testimony grew...I know that Jesus Christ knows me, he is my Savior, He loves me, and I am blessed beyond words.

Say It Is Almost Over!

I am so ready for canning season to be over! We have done 16 quarts of Salsa, 20 quarts of Tomoto Juice, 16 quarts of Veggie Soup, I don't know how many quarts of Stew tomatoes or pints of corn in the freezer.

I still have carrots to can. I have pulled all the onions and am letting them dry right now.

We still have apples to make into sauce and dehydrate, peaches and pears to can but I am So ready to be done!

Oh, but the food collecter in me just will not stop.

I found boneless, skinless Chicken Breast for $1.49 lb So, I cooked and shreaded it and now have 6-12oz. freezer bowls full of it in the freezer too.

I figure it will be awesome to pull out and make enchalada's or chicken noodle soup.

Has anyone ever put meat in bottles? How did it turn out? What do I have to do to proccess it? I would like to go buy more chicken, but I don't have that much freezer space.

Did I say something about wanting to be done canning for the year??? Maybe I am just ready for the mess of supplies to go back out to the storage room!
