Do You Know What This Is?

I have tried many times to grow an avocado tree...but never could get one to start.

When Kira came home from her mission in Argentina she had a picture of one of the Hermana's avocado trees...it was awesome...and no I could not find the picture to post it.

So, when I bought avocados the other day, Kira taught me what I was doing wrong.

You need to soak the seed so that the brown covering will peel off, then place the toothpicks in the seed and place it in water.

Within two days I had roots and the seedling is about 10 days old!

Who knows maybe someday it will actually become a tree!

Happy Father's Day

I have heard as a little girl, I was a real "daddy's girl"... I am the oldest of 5 siblings. I am not sure when that changed, maybe when the first son was born...

My father and I are a lot a like:

STRONG WILLED

Stubborn

pig headed

what ever you want to call it...

we seldom see eye to eye.

When my dad said he was coming for Josh and Ali's wedding...I will admit I was really FREAKED OUT! We hardly get along in the same State for a day let alone in the same house for several days.

I have to admit, I am glad he was here for Josh and Ali.
I know that my dad's health makes it very difficult for him to travel and so I know this was a great sacrifice for him.

I know I don't say it enough to him...but I do love him. He is my father...
he taught me to be a hard worker, he provided for my family
and
I know in his way...he loves me too.

All Gone...

My Sis, Lene and her family left today after a wonderful couple of weeks hanging out...
Can I just say...
It is quiet...But BOY I AM MISSING THEM...

I think "Ham" even loved me by the time they got ready to leave!!!

THE FLOOR IS LAVA

My children and their friends have played

"THE FLOOR IS LAVA"

for I do not know how long.

Someone yells the floor is Lava and everyone has to find a place to get their feet off the floor...yea cute trick when you have three 21 year old boys jumping to your couch...the floor remains LAVA until the person who called it out changes it back to the floor or something else. You might go several weeks with out hearing it called and then just out of the BLUE ...you hear your furniture screaming in pain.

Well, that was the inspiration for Josh's 26th Birthday Cake...

It did not turn out like I wanted it to...
