Thank you to all that gave some and to some who gave all

How Cute Are These!

Someone asked how I was already walking 2 miles a day while in the hospital...
THESE cute little slippers kept me smiling as I did my laps.
I wonder if they would care if I wear them to Cardio Rehab??? Thanks Pennie...I LOVE THEM!

Pills Smills...

I once thought that the 12 pills a day was a bunch!

Now I take over 20 different pills multiple times a day.
and the doctors are wondering why I still do not have an appetite! How grateful I am for anti rejection meds...and med for all the side effects of the anti rejection stuff, steroids, antibiotics and blah blah blah

Free At Last

10 days after receiving my new little heart I was released from the hospital!
I had my first of MANY biopsies to check for signs of rejection.
Which to my dismay we already had some. The doctors told me several times this would happen...But...I was not ready to hear it on the first biopsy.
When the doctors came in they continued to promise me that could go home...home back to Ro and Karen's ...YES!!!!
It only took me a moment to get dressed....heheeheheee
I was not giving them time to change their minds.
Kira and Sergio who have been my constant companions, loaded my stuff and me into the car...and off we went...

Miracles and Prayers

Sorry, I do not have any pictures to post...but my gratitude to all of you my blogging friends, family and friends..
THANK YOU for your prayers, thoughts and concern.
This past week has been unbelievable to say the least.
I have been blessed by my Father in heaven in ways I can not even express.
My new heart beats so strong that it ROCKS my body..no really!!!
I will never be able to express my love and appreciation to a total stranger somewhere in the western United States who was a donor and to their family.
I am walking 2 miles a day at the hospital and can't wait to show people my NEW HEART mark.
I am in a regular room and just plain happy!
LIFE IS SO VERY GOOD!

Bless Her Heart

Hi there!

This is Janiece’s sister Lene and I wanted to update everyone on what is going on with her.

Last Thursday  her pager went off…yep that “PAGER”. After making a few hundred phone calls she headed for the hospital. And Kirk and gang headed down from Idaho.

Here she is waiting to go into surgery.

She ended up waiting much longer than she expect and finally on Friday afternoon she went into surgery. The good thing about the delay it gave everyone plenty of time to get there…and wait.

Here she is with her sweet family, except for Ali who wasn’t able to make the trip down.

niece and fam

The surgery went really well. And the O.R. staff was great. They really kept everyone who was waiting at the hospital informed about what was going on each step of the way.

Here she is on Sunday with our brother Rowland. He and family have been amazing to her while she has been down in Utah.

And Kirk sent me these pictures today. Not only walking, but walking with a big smile.

I have talked to her a couple times and she sounds great.

Love ya Niece and keep getting strong!

Porter Rockwell

Derek read a book about Porter Rockwell when he was young and always liked the story about this "Avenging Angel".
So, when I told him that the museum in Lehi, Utah had a bunch of Porter Rockwell's "stuff" because he had a home here, he immediately wanted to go check it out.
Derek was pretty excited when he was getting to touch "HIS" saddle.
This statue is setting on the ground of of where Porter's one home was.

We had lots of fun looking at all the amazing old western history that we had read about in home school.

I Being Born of Goodly Parents...

Maybe one of my favorite stories found in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ it is about Helaman and the 2000 stripling warriors, and found in the book of Alma Chapter 56 verse 47-48~

"Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers , saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it"Parson, Del (born 1948, Utah)
Farewell, My Stripling Warrior
Painting, oil on canvas, 1999
President Thomas S. Monson said, " Being a mother has never been an easy role. Some of the oldest writings in the world admonish us not to forsake the law of our mother's instructing us "that a floolish son is the heaviness of his mother"and "warn us not to ignore out mother when she is old" (Proverbs 1:8, 10:1, 23:22) "The scriptures also remind us that what we learn from our mothers comprises our very core value."
This past week has been so amazing for me, as a mother.
I love my children and the adults that they are becoming.
Today, Derek reported his mission at our church building (ward) in Burley.
Though I could not be there in person, they set up a system so I could listen to it over the phone...Tears came to my eyes as he started his talk and said, " First, I want to say, " I love my mother".
I feel blessed to hear "Happy Mother's Day"

Celebrating Mother's Day

With Memories...

I Am So Spoiled

My Sister 'Lene flew into SLC today to spend Mother's Day weekend with me. Thank goodness she did.
Kirk, Derek, Kira and Sergio left for Idaho today.
Ro and part of his family have also gone for the weekend
to be to Derek's homecoming.
I have such an amazing family.
I have been so blessed with great siblings, parents
husband and children.

HEAVEN...

with my eternal family.
Somethings never change...
I do not know if I could be any happier.

Happy Reunion...

It was so amazing...
we smiled and laughed
Derek was so excited talking to everyone.
He and Josh look so much alike!

When Derek was coming down the escalator he said...he thought he recognized Sergio...Kira had only her eyes showing behind her sign.

As he walked up to Sergio he realized it was KIRA standing next to him. What a great surprise for him to see Kira after 3 years.

He Is Home!!!!!

Getting Ready

For Family Home Evening we made signs to hang-up around the house and to take to the airport to welcome Elder Derek Burgess home from his mission.
