Porter's Place...

As I mentioned before we have a little thing for Porter Rockwell. In Lehi, Utah there is a restaurant called Porter's Place.
We have drove past it many times and said we would wait until Kirk could eat with us. But, because he wasn't able to visit because of work we were not leaving Utah with out checking it out.

I am so glad we did.
This little guy was waiting to greet us.
Though out the entire restaurant there were pictures and paintings of Porter.
The atmosphere was great.

and the food was amazing. We just had burgers and sandwiches, where all the bread is made on location, and it was unbelievable. The prices were much better than what I was expecting.and the company was wonderful. Next time MAYBE Kirk and even Derek can join us.

IT IS TRUE...I AM REALLY HOME!

Leaving Utah was truly a bitter sweet moment
but I can not tell you how happy I am to be home.
It really hit me as we were driving home that I had missed part of Spring and all of the Summer on my beautiful Snake River.
Harvest has begun and the colors showed it.
Kira and Sergio have been my constant companions for the past 4 months. I do not know what I would have done without them.
There is a Hill that feels like a roller coster...so what else do you do...
and if Kira is driving you HANG on!I snapped pictures the whole way home.

The trip home was tons of fun and went
WAY FAST...
Maybe this would explain it and the TERRIBLE gas mileage we got!
Utah, thanks for the memories.
See you in a few days, but just for a visit!

MADDOX'S

If you know where Brigham City, Utah or Perry, Utah is located more than likely you have ate at Maddox's, located in Perry.
When we were young they had a tram that went around the drive in. This is one of the few places we got to stop and eat while making our rare trips from Arizona to Idaho to see our Aunt Bonnie and her family. It has since been removed...maybe because of little people like my sister, Lene who was to busy running to the bathroom to read the sign above and got clocked in the head by the trams food carrier coming around. (I looked for a picture of lene with her scar but could not find one...yes, she STILL has her Maddox brand mark. heheheeeee)

I love stopping and having a cheese burger at the drive in. Even better going into the ranch house and having an amazing stake with their UNBEATABLE rolls.

BUT do not stop on Sunday or Monday because they are closed.

Point of the Mountain

One of my favorite things to watch driving on I-15 in the mornings are the paragliding and hang gliders at the " Point of the Mountain or sometimes referred to as "Bluffdale" or even "Draper".
I found a really neat web site that has lots of pictures and even a live web cam.
I know this is going to sound really crazy...but I think I want to try this!
I will miss seeing this sight on our trips back and forth to Murray and the doctors appointments.

Ultra Cool Ultra Sound

Kira went to have her first ultra sound on August 19th. and this is what we got to see...
and this is truly my favorite...
look at the little toes!It was so fun to watch Kirk and Sergio looking at the pictures before Kira came out. pretty neat
Kira and Sergio are so happy.
It is just another miracle that has taken place this year.

Oh yes, they "think" the baby is a girl...she is 16 weeks old!

Cassia County Parade 100 years

I love a good country parade! My favorite...the color guard.
I love watching the flag as it is carried by the different armed services.
It is humbling and aways gives me a great piece of pride...now that is a oxymoron. This is Cassia County's 100 year celebration of the fair and parade.
So they had several of the OLD and new police carsBut, this was my FAVORITE thing...

I got to take Celes to watch the parade, OK I watched and she slept, but none the less I got to be with her.
Do you have a community parade? Do you go? What is your favorite part?
