Missionary Mom Countdowns

I am a calendar person. I have them all over in my house. It's like when I travel I want a map to look at, even if I know the trip by heart...I like to see where I am at.
That is how I am with my missionary countdowns I have on my fridge. Yes, My fridge looks like OLD lady fridge...pictures drawings you name it and TONS of magnets. I like to see just how much time until my kids get home.
Kira's will be filled up BEFORE she gets home because she extended her mission by a month (No, she did not ask if it was ok). I am a little freaked out as to how I am going to keep count for that added time.Derek's was on the fridge before he left...I bet he would be surprised to see how full it is already getting!
I also got a bit smarter, I use the same color of hearts and then on transfers or months out, I use a different color.

I love it...I feel so in control of something I have absolutely no control of.

oooohhhhhh look how full her count down is! She is going to be home before you know it.

btw...I love your fridge all covered in pictures and magnets. It is the second place I check-out when I get to your house....the first is the bathroom!

Hi!
Thanks for stopping by my page and leaving me a comment! I loved your comment! I have no idea what that man thinks-all I know is that he scares me to death AND the people he knows!
I'm going to look around on your page now. I love the calendars. Two missionaries at once. WOW. I can't imagine how that must feel! I may finally have one son serve a mission next year! Keeping my fingers crossed!

That elusive feeling of control is nice to have... I am waiting for my baby sister to have her 2nd baby. I am a little baby hungry and there are only 45 days until her due date!!! I HATE WAITING!!!

I just saw your fun comments on our blog. Thanks. Our insruction is to visit each mission at least once a year; however, we have to wait to be invited. We've only been to 4 of the 14 since we arrived. We'll meet all the mission presidents and wives at their semi-annual seminar Feb. 15. We hope to be in Salta soon. Walt talks to the mission pres wives often regarding health concerns.
It will be fun to see Hna. Burgess in Salta when we do go.
I tried to do a countdown for our granddaughter like you have...love them. But it didn't come up...I'll try again. How did you get the photo in?

I feel the same way about lists that you feel about calenders. My lists make me feel like I have a little more control over all of the things that I have to get done, and they usually make all of those things feel a bit more managable.

I can not wait Kira to come home. The branch has not been the same without her!

I can't believe Kira will be home soon! How exciting!!! That is such a great idea to keep track of their time on their mission. You are the funnest lady I've ever met. The lotion you got for Dick is great. I works really well. Thank you so, so much. We love you.

I love those! It's awesome that you have two missionaries! I'm sorry I haven't come to see you since you left a comment on my blog. Hey, I would love to invite you to follow along with me. ARen't you Lene's sister? :o) I know you're not a weirdo freak or anything. I have had quite a few people ask to be invited that I had no idea were following me! :o) So, if you want to, I will send you an email when I go private. just need your address. thanks! Have a great day. And I think it's great that your daughter extended. She sounds great!

That is a very deep, very true statement - giving yourself some sense of control with your countdown calendars. You are a deep woman, Janiece!
