Team Edward

So the finial vote on this group. is that they do their job quickly and painlessly.

If ANYONE walks up to you with a tray of these ...
Do not be discourage they are are the REAL team Edward members!!!

I have told a couple of the "vampires" that have came to drain my blood, that they really need a shirt or button stating there side, Several have had to agree.

Broken Heart

Whew... where do I start?
If you follow my blog, you know that I have heart problems.

I had an appointment at the Heart Failure/Transplant office that I have been going to for the past 5 years.
Last week when I was at the doctors office...I must have had my rose colored glasses on when they told me they needed to see me again in a week for an appointment for the
"Cath" lab for the pressure of my heart to be check.
I knew my energy levels were low...but maybe I was just being lazy :o)
When they finished the "right cath. procedure they took me up to my hospital room, to start me on heparin and get ready to thin my blood to therapeutic.
When about 3 hours passed in walked my cardiologist and his "team".
He is a straight forward doctor I like that.
He said, Janiece, it is time to put you on the heart transplant list.
You are a perfect candidate and it needs to be done.

In the past two weeks they have ran all the tests that they need to to present me to the "transplant board" on Tuesday.

The support of Kirk, our children and family has been beyond words.
I have been so blessed.

I am going through emotional swings...I will be fine ... and then have a few tears.
The thought that someone will loose their loved one for me to continue to have mine is so difficult.
One of the transplant doctors made this comment "now their heart will not go to waste."
My thought was, True...
and I promise that I will not let it go to waste either.

Are we ready for another adventure?

What Happen To March?

This is one crazy week.

You know of Jared's Birthday and Josh's amazing testing to earn his 5th degreeBut what you might not know is that Kira and Sergio left San Miguel Tucuman for a 15 hour bus ride to Buenos Aires to apply for Sergio's visitor's visa....PLEASE pray that he will get it. They interview Friday morning.that is has hit me that Derek will be home in 6 weeks!!! I do not know what airport we will pick him up at ....but we will have him home in no time!

that after 2 "normal " visits to the hear failure and transplant group at IHC in Murray and after spending 8 hours in the office...I will be back in the hospital's cath-lab and then hang out while they work on my weird blood. THIS THURSDAY! I was just really glad that this last week for St. Patties that Red Box had a free video code...and I sat in my front room with my blanket and Iced diet pop and laughed until I threw up while watching this movie! That is 5 thumbs up!!

and Yes my insides are still working on my 3 meals a day of "Ruben" sandwiches.

All I know that I am so tired this week....already....

to watch Josh go through that testing was very emotional for me.

praying that Derek will not have any regrets from his time on his mission, and that he works hard for the last 6 weeks.

and my prayers for Sergio and Kira to leave BA with Sergio's visa in hand so that they can come visit us in the fall.

With all the test that they are wanting to run this week....I almost think I am ready for them to be here...especially is my heart failure has really taken a turn for the worse

Anyone want to put out their hand for a prayer circle??? I will even say it.

CONGRATS BUD!

Today Josh tested for his 5th degree blackbelt...and now stands with an elite group of men and women in the HTF able to have the title of master of Taekwondo. He stood with his mentors and those that trained him.

He declared him self ready to earn his next rank He did his forms
one steps
sparing and board breaks at 3 stations
I have cried at one of Josh's testings, he had the color belt rank of Brown belt, when he did not break his boards. It killed me to see him not complete something he had worked so hard at and then have to wait for the next advancement testing to try again
and I have cried at a couple tournaments when he was hurt.

But, today I cried as I watched my son soaked with sweat...shaking from exhaustion...and near tears too. When Grand Master Jack Pierce announced "Mr. Burgess you passed"

Josh there are no words to tell you how much I love you or how proud I am of you today.I remember you as a white belt saying "if I do all of my testings I will be a 5th degree blackbelt when I am in my 20's...that is a long time, but I want to be a Master in Taekwondo someday."

Today is that day!

I love your:

Courtesy

Integrity

Perseverance

Self- Control

Indomitable Spirit

and your dedication to those you love and your love of Taekwondo. Your family, friends and your Taekwondo students are lucky to have you in their lives.

I love you bud...~MOM

Josh has to wait a year to be called "Master"...but he has earned it!

What Are They?

Kirk spends HOURS after work in the garden each year.
We plant a very large garden for only 2 people. yes the picture was taken by my sister 'lene
this is maybe a 1/4 of our 2009 garden
So this year "we" have decided to put in a smaller garden and we have been using some of the seeds that we harvested from last year.

We made "mini" green houses to get the seeds growing.
We use Zip-lock bags and good planting soil.
Kirk labeled all of his seeds so he knew what he was keeping to plant this spring.
I on the other hand just "saved" seeds of something I liked in a dish.Kirk and I both agree what I saved is some kind of squash...
I told him I think it is Spaghetti squash.
He is not real sure he wants to plant them in the garden.
(because we did not grow spaghetti squash last year)
Especially when the rest of the seeds are just starting to sprout and these have their 3rd leaves!
I asked if we could just plant one and SEE what it is...
his answer...
Do you remember we want a SMALL GARDEN!???

What do you think our surprise plant is?

It Felt So Good!

It has been a long time since I had a request from Find A Grave...or I should say...it has been along time since I went and looked for someones loved one at our local cemeteries.
(Kirk's grandma)

Today I MADE myself leave the house. I was able to find 3 graves that someone was looking for.
I know this sounds crazy.
But, it is the most amazing feeling in the world when you are able to find a total strangers loved one's memorial.

I Want To Be Counted

I am really excited that I get to fill out a 2010 US Census! For someone that loves researching family history, I know how important this little paper is.
I will not be "public data" for 72 years (Title 44, US Code. Section 2108) but I WILL BE!
And if by chance one of my posterity is looking for me...I will be there!
I wish one thing could be changed on the census...I wish our "maiden" names were also listed.
Maybe in 10 years they will add it to the 3 questions.

Pantry Dinner

This is one of those time that I am really grateful that I have a "usable" pantry.
So it is basically Minestrone Soup...hamburger, beans, tomatoes, onions, celery, noodles and little veggie broth to help with moisture. I let it simmer for about 3 hours before adding the noodles in the last 12 mins. Kirk loves home made bread... with this recipe it is pretty easy to keep it in the house.
I found this recipe in the book Recipes from the Heart by the Paul Congregational Church in Paul, Idaho. I would have to admit that my favorite recipe books are church recipes books that are gathered from the members. Paul Congregational has a high German membership and is very obvious when looking at the recipes.
BUT... this white bread...I will admit I like even better than Betty's.

Perfect White Bread
submitted by Peggy Moore
1 pkg. active dry yeast 2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup warm water 1 T. shortening
2 cups milk scalded 5-3/4 to 6 1/4 all purpose flour
2 T sugar
Soften active dry yeast in warm water. Combine hot milk, sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to luke warm. Stir in 2 cups of flour beat well. Add the softened yeast; mix. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Turn our on lightly floured surface; kneed until smooth and satiny (8-10 mins) Shape in a ball; place in a lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease the surface. Cover; let rise in a warm place and it about doubles (1 1/2 hours). Punch down. Cut dough in 2 portions. Shape in loaves place in greased 9X5X3 pans. Cover and let raise (45 - 60 mins) Bake in hot oven 35 mins or until done. Makes 2 large loaves.
I use my kitchen aid....after adding all the ingredients I use the bread paddle and let it "kneed" for about 8 to 10 mins, cover with a towel
When it has doubled in size I take 1/2 of the portion and shape into a loaf and place in bread pan to raise and then bake....
Pretty good white bread....if I do say so myself.

MARCH

Yes, this is the same frame I used for my "Vintage Valentines" I removed the Valentines and added March scrap book paper with a few jewels.
I decorated with plastic coins, green and gold tissue paper from the dollar store,
colored "rocks" and the most AWESOMEST (YES that is a word!)cross stitching, from my sister in law, Pennie. I love how the colors reflect on the wall.
I feel Spring in the air!!!
