Is it because of the catchy date 9/11/ or because it is still so fresh in our memories...

BUT

What year did the towers fall?

Do you remember there was barely a home without a flag flying or an empty seat in any church in the country?

Did you write in your journal about September 11th 2001; Your feelings, fears and prayers?

Did you write GOD BLESS AMERICA?

Is your flag still flying?

Do you still attend church and pray for God to PLEASE Bless America?

Or in just 9 years have we forgot?

Just a thought....

It still scares me very much to think about seeing the second plane hit the towers...I was sick and terrified that this happen in our country. Of the many Innocent peoples who's lives were taken by a group of people that had nothing on their mind but being COLD BLOODED KILLERS.

Indian Taco Recipe

I always knew the name for this favorite treat as NAVAJO TACO, I grew up in Arizona, but over the years I have seen the name become Indian Tacos, so what ever you want to call them

this is the recipe I use. Disclaimer: this is NOT the picture of my taco I ate it before I remembered I need to take a picture and fount this one here.

This is my Scone/Donut Recipe

But instead of rolling out the dough as soon as it proofs I stretch the dough to the size I want my Indian Tacos to be. I slowly add them to the hot oil.
watching for them to brown and then turn them over.
I drain them on paper towels
While the dough is proofing I start my ground beef cooking with garlic, salt, pepper and salsa.
When it is done I add a large can or refried beans.

You can use what ever you would like for toppings.

Just like you do a regular taco.

~CHEESE is a must!

~Tomatoes

~Sour Cream

~Salsa

~Avocados

~Onions

~Jalapenos

Labor Day Fun and Game

After Kirk took the boys to get another load of wood it was time to play.

Though the younger sons had other plans,

we headed to the drivers range at the local golf course.Oh my goodness I have not laughed so hard in a very long time.
Everyone has their own style.

Oh wait the ball is still setting there??!!??Thank goodness Kirk was very patient with us.

Though I am sure he was laughing his guts out at the total misfits of golf we were showing off. 2 baskets of balls $10.00, memories and laughter priceless...

and where else but rural Idaho will you find a wheel line watering in the middle of the drivers range?

Everyone makes this game time dip different. Mine is pretty simple.

Layer:

Refried Beans (I warm mine and add a little salsa and garlic)

Sour Cream with taco seasoning

Guacamole (6 avocados with salsa and lemon juice)

Green Onions

Chopped Tomatoes

CHEESE

I like olives on mine so I add them to my plate.

And then it was time for:

The Boise State vs Virgina Tech Game

I though my poor husband was going to have a heart attack by the end of the 3rd Quarter.

I was hoping that BSU would change to their BSU COLORS during half time. But they didn't.

I was just glad to see BSU come back and win the game 33 to 302010 BSU Nike Uniform.

Long Time No See

My youngest, Derek, arrived home from his LDS mission the week of my heart transplant. He moved to Arizona to work two weeks later. So, we had not been at home together in 2 1/2 years.

He decided that Arizona was not the place for him...I must admit I am kind of happy about that.... so he made the 12 hour drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake City to meet us after my weekly doctors visit.

Kira and Sergio drove our car back and I was able to ride home with Derek.

It was fun to laugh and joke with him.

It is good to have you home Derek, I have missed you.
