Friday Night Lights!

I love High School Football ...even when we haven't won a game in a couple of years, it is o.k. because I see progression in our team. And in a couple of years this team will be unstoppable! Last night was HOMECOMING! My husband and all three of our children graduated from this High School.
Last year the Skaggs family donated the money to build a new football/track stadium. It is now located right behind the "new" high school. It is pretty darn fancy...maybe a little to fancy for high school but it is all good right...well right until you come to LIGHTS...Yep, as the planning team put in astro-turf and high end track turf, sound system and more bleachers. Someone forgot to budget in the lights! So, some great people in the Burley area donated A LOT OF MONEY and last night we had FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS! Our first 2 home games had to be played at 4:00 pm...so, this was very exciting. The lights are amazing! At the old field there were dark spots everywhere...and I think they were using 50 Watt bulbs from 1960, so this was like going from candles to electricity! Yea, that big of a deal.

With Homecoming comes the Royalty.
wish you could see how tight these girls hands were clinched as they named the 2008-2009 BHS Home Coming Queen...It was so darn cute

And the winner is MISS BECK!!! She is such a sweetheart! I was so excited for her. Hey, and while you are looking at the pretty smiles. Notice the modesty of their dresses. Total CLASS if you ask me.

Oh...the winner of the HOME COMING GAME.....the other team, but it was still fun to watch!

Great photos! And you are right about the team getting better and better...our little junior high team has won more games this season that they have in the last four years combined. It does make me feel a bit old to see Miss Beck crowned as homecoming queen though. She was in my communications class my first year teaching. Time flys! Thanks for the great post. It really revved up my school spirit!

Hi Janiece
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. This is the first chance I've had to be online since the grandkids arrived a week ago.
Hugs, Rhondi

Wow- That's pretty cool for someone to donate all that..
I like those dresses they are pretty dresses & modest!
Isn't Burley not far from Rexburg? It's been so long ago but I can remember so of the town names. Think a guy I dated lived in Burley?

the dresses are fantastic!!!! 99% of the young ladies around here look like hootchy mammas....I am not kidding...glad you had fun at the game. I haven't been to a high school football game since Matt graduated. We also have a new coach as well. Tough year....

Awesome pictures! Thanks for bringing my son home from that game-he said he didn't know who took him there and he couldn't remember who brought him home! Thanks for watching out for him! Good thing he has two sets of parents! Love ya!

I was just thinking that very thing, about the girls' dresses. I especially like that polka-dotted dress. So cute!
