What’s For Dinner?

So, I admit I have been a little unorthodox about dinner the last few weeks!

But, the Nephews and Nieces are not complaining!

with doughnutsdoughnuts

Recipe:

This is really my scone recipe. I use a Kitchen Aid to mix with the bread hook. It is very soft dough. I add a little extra flour after they have proofed.

3/4 Cup Warm Water

1 Tablespoon Yeast

3 Tablespoons Shortening

3 Tablespoons Sugar

(Let “grow”)

Add 1 1/2 Cups Warm Milk

1 teaspoon of Salt

5 Cups of Flour

Roll on floured towel or board. Cut into doughnut shapes.

Add to warm oil, as it raises to the top of the oil flip doughnut over. Let the doughnut become a light brown.

Frost with …what ever you like or cinnamon & sugar or powdered sugar

Wow, those nieces and nephews are living the life! I think we'll come stay with you guys for awhile and enjoy donuts for dinner! When I was growing up my mom would designate one day during the summer that we got to have banana splits for dinner. We loved it!
