Long Time No See

My youngest, Derek, arrived home from his LDS mission the week of my heart transplant. He moved to Arizona to work two weeks later. So, we had not been at home together in 2 1/2 years.
He decided that Arizona was not the place for him...I must admit I am kind of happy about that.... so he made the 12 hour drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake City to meet us after my weekly doctors visit.
Kira and Sergio drove our car back and I was able to ride home with Derek.
It was fun to laugh and joke with him.
It is good to have you home Derek, I have missed you.

Our sons go away on missions as boys and come home as men. I hope you enjoy every minute with him, two and an half years are a looong time and there is much to be caught up on. (And as cute as that man is, he won't be yours for very long, I am sure there are numerous young ladies that have him in their sights.)

Janiece, you must be sooo excited having Derek home! I'm thrilled for you! You have 2 1/2 years of catching up to do! Enjoy every minute!

Yeah! I am sooooo glad that you finally get to have a real homecoming with Derek! And having another member of your wonderful family in residence in our cute little town in always a good thing!

Glad he made it home safe and sound.

Arizona really isn't for everyone. The heat is a bit much when you move down here at the beginning of summer.

Enjoy your time together. And I'm totally laughing that the sunglasses of my 80's teen years are now totally back in style! LOL!
