The Garden Has Been Put Away

Kirk getting the garden cleaned and tilled for the winter.

Ro and I gathered the pumpkins so that the pumpkin patch can be tilled up today.
It really is a sad feeling to see all the fresh produce gone from the garden, and just dark dirt waiting for next Spring.

I understand the sad feeling - but hey, also see the promise of what's to come next year! I remember as a kid (sadly, I don't currently have a garden) feeling a little sad when all was cleaned up and packed away. But all winter long we enjoyed the produce that we'd stored - freezing and canning like mad - and I remembered how it looked before and would look again.

Popping in from SITS - and I have to agree with you, the flip-off button isn't very welcoming. I would've thought that would count under the clean-language rule for featured posts.

I have been moaning and groaning about having to clean out my little garden patch for the winter, but after seeing the size of your garden I will repent and be grateful.

I am so impressed with your gardening skills. You will have to mentor me next year. Maybe you can cure my black thumb. :)

Looks like a nice stash of pumpkins :) :) to decorate with.
It seems like everyday if filled with many things to do and get done. You should see all the dust bunnies hoping around my floors.

The finger wasn't intended for everyone, just the lurkers. I have had to many, and because of them I had to get a new blog. I don't welcome lurkers.

I thought about taking the image down for my big SITS day, but then that just wouldn't be me.

And it is my day in the sun, and that is part of me. I am sorry that I offended you. You do have a nice blog.

Holy crap! Your garden is huge? Sigh, I wish I could be like you... Look at all of those pumpkins! This is reminding me that I need to go home and pull up all my annuals. I think. This is all just guesswork to me...
