SPT

Our list of top 100 things about me #28 is this weeks SPT from Lelly. Mine is my youngest son is in Indiana.

Derek is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission.

His Mission boarders along Ohio where Josh served. It is hard to believe that Derek has already been gone
6 months.
Derek is a total kick, he is outgoing and VERY strong willed. He has a temper, but as
I always say...the Heart of a Lion.
I miss his hugs and the way he says,
"Mommy, I love you".
I am very proud of his choice to serve a mission. He truly understood why it was important for him to do so...if you ask him it was because of Obedience...and that is it plain and simple...

It is a hard choice, especially when you leave a girlfriend behind. But...if it is meant to be the girl will be waiting and if it's not they will find the right one when they come back. I love Derek! He is a neat kid. Can't wait to see him again.

What a good kid.

I think he has had the influence of a good aunt throughout his life. It has made all the difference in the world!

Is it bad to say I dread the day my son will have to leave on a mission! I can't imagine 1 day away from this little sweetheart of mine...let alone 2 years! Oh! That will be a day of mixed emotions!

What a Great Kid! I love the pictures. I bet it was the influence of his Aunt & his mom..
She told me your son & hers talk every week & email. That is just so awesome. I love that & wish mine did the same.

I will be sending my son out in a year and a half, which both excites and terrifies me. I know that year and a half will fly by because these past 17 and a half years of his life sure have.
Congratulations to you and your son. What a wonderful experience for him.

Wow, he sounds like a fantastic son. All his photos are great--the bike one definitely shows a sense of humor!

Your previous post made me laugh!! Did your husband take that picture of you sleeping? That's too funny how it affected his dreaming mind.

YOU DESERVE THIS JANIECE. What a nice young man. I am so very proud of him too. They bless our lives when they make good choices. I think it is so wonderful to see him still saying I love you. All worth it.

Oh, he sounds EXACTLY like my oldest son. I hope he, who is also temper-filled and strong-willed, turns out as good as your son has.
